No-Bake Peanut Squares

This variation of a favorite no-bake treat uses Chex cereal combined with a cooked corn syrup mixture that's flavored with peanut butter & pressed in a pan.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
  • 6 cups Corn Chex or Rice Chex cereal
  • 1/2 cup salted peanuts

Method

Butter a 9-inch square pan. Combine corn syrup and sugar in a 3-quart saucepan; heat just to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in peanut butter. Gently stir in cereal and peanuts until evenly coated. Press mixture firmly into prepared pan. Let stand about 1 hour. Cut into 6 rows by 6 rows to make 36 pieces. Store loosely covered.

Notes: No-Bake Peanut Squares are easy and fun to make with kids. They're even more fun to eat!
