
These melt-in-your-mouth favorites (also known as Mexican Wedding Cakes or Russian Tea Cakes) are rich in butter and flavored with mace.
Mix butter until soft and creamy. Blend sugar, salt, mace and vanilla. Add to butter and mix until fluffy. Gradually stir in flour, mixing well after each addition. Chill dough an hour or so or until firm enough to handle. Using hands, shape dough into 1-inch balls. Bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 minutes. Place on wire racks. While cookie are still warm, roll in sifted powdered sugar or colored sugars.
