Cherry Cordial Chocolate Cookies

Cherry candies add a festive touch to these delicate chocolate and cherry flavored holiday cookies.
 

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup cherry syrup
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups butter
  • 24 cherry cordial kisses

Method

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda, and salt. In separate bowl, mix butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs, vanilla, and syrup then mix well. Slowly mix in flour mixture. Using a small cookie scoop, drop cookie dough onto ungreased cookie sheet, baking about 7 to 9 minutes. After removing cookies from oven, place one cherry cordial kiss into center of each cookie. Let cool slightly on pan then remove to a wire rack covered with wax paper to cool completely.
