Brown Sugar Shortbreads

How can such a simple cookie be so delicious--thin and crisp with a delicate flavor. Dip in chocolate and decorate for an extra special treat.

Ingredients:

• 1 cup butter
• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 3/4 cup brown sugar
• Optional:
• Chocolate chips
• Decorator sprinkles and sugars

Method

Beat butter and brown sugar together until creamy. Add flour, mixing until it forms a solid ball. Roll out on a floured board to 1/4-1/2 inch thickness. Cut out with Christmas cookie cutters. Place on ungreased baking sheets and bake at 325 degrees for 15-18 minutes. Once cooled, dip half of each cookie in melted chocolate chips. Decorate with Christmas sprinkles and sugar if desired.

Notes: These are so much fun for the kids and I. We make them every Christmas.
